crochet

fique and paper, naturally dyed with mate, rhubarb, black walnuts, and turmeric.

Through cotton and wool, Luisa felt, for the first time, part of something vast. She took what she learned from her family and added herself to it: she made structures that can support themselves, where multiple stitches unfurl from a single chain, gradually growing.

Colors and shapes come from her home's backyard, its topography, and an important memory of her childhood.
Besides wool and cotton, materials commonly found in the gatherings of her family, she added paper and fique, two fibers that give support in the shapes they take.

Like a landscape shaped by wind and water, this is formed by thread, growing slowly and holding its weight. Each balanced volume wants to break through and come out of the flatness of the wall.

The cloth has its own desires.
